Description

The HCPL501 is a single-channel high-speed optocoupler that provides electrical isolation between input (LED) and output (phototransistor) circuits. It uses an AlGaAs LED optically coupled to a high-speed phototransistor, with a separate bias connection to the photodiode that significantly improves switching speed compared to standard phototransistor couplers.
