2Kb Serial SPI EEPROM with Block Lock™ Protection IC X25020

Category: Tag:

Description

The X25020 is a CMOS 2048-bit serial Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory (E²PROM) device. It is internally organized as 256 × 8 bits, and uses a Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) compatible communication protocol over a simple three-wire bus (clock SCK, data in SI, data out SO), with a chip select (CS) input. It supports additional features such as Block Lock™ Protection to protect portions of memory.

FEATURES

  • Clock Rate: Up to 1 MHz.
  • SPI Modes: Supports SPI mode (0,0) and (1,1).
  • Supply Voltage: 2.7 V to 5.5 V operation range.
  • Low Power CMOS: (Standby current) ~ 10 µA / (Active write current) ~ 3 mA
  • Block Lock Protection: Can protect 1/4, 1/2, or the full memory array from writes.
  • Write Protection: Built-in protection including power-up/down safety, write latch, and WP pin.
  • Write Cycle: Self-timed write (~5 ms typical).
  • Endurance: Rated for 100,000 write cycles per byte.
  • Data Retention: Typically ≥ 100 years.
  • ESD Protection: ~2000 V on all pins.
  • Memory Size: 2048 bits (256 × 8) E²PROM array.
  • Serial Interface: Simple 3-wire SPI interface — SCK (clock), SI (data in), SO (data out), plus CS (chip select).
  • Mounting Style: Surface Mount
